  • If you get one of those plastic trays from the meat department, wash it off to use as a tray to hold the seeds folded inside damp paper towels. Place the tray with the wet paper towels inside a zip-lock bag, and put it on the water heater, (NOT the radiator) or another place where it is warm, but NOT hot. As soon as the seed splits, and the root extends, plant the seedling in your choice of sterilized soil mixture.

     
  • Now, I like to plant the seeds (soaked or not) straight into 6" pots with 50/50 Perlite/potting soil mix, and keep them warm in a dome tray until they sprout, but take off the lid and when they pop, and add a circulating fan to blow on the young stems and make them grow up good and strong! Prolonged humid conditions and still air tend to promote mold or fungus resulting in damp-off, where your seedling just keels over and dies...
