Oxygen (O2) This is it! the MOST important of all the elements, 'cause we all need air to breathe, right? well, M.J. not only breathes through it's leaves, but also through it's roots! So, here's what you do: Go find that old fish-tank air bubble pump in the attic, and an air- stone, and plunk the bubbling end into the garbage can full of water you use for a reservoir, and let it bubble in your water all the time. That's it! whenever you water the girls, you give them oxygen too, and they will grow like, well, you know, WEEDS.
Nitrogen (N) is the first number in the NPK rating you'll see printed on all fertilizer cans, bags, etc. It is a main nutrient, and all plants need it to grow, as it provides some of the main building blocks for cell production as well as providing energy for the huge job of photosynthesis. Nitrogen is mainly used in the vegetative stage, but some is needed at all stages of growth. (For example, the usual vegetating fert is 20/20/20 to start with, that way, there is enough nitrogen for the season's growth, nd the supply of secondary nutes lasts all season.) Fertilize the ladies once using 20/20/20 after the seedlings are about a month old, and 6 to 8 inches tall, then water with only oxygenation supplement until you flip to 12/12.

Phosphorus (P) is the element that the plants use the most of during the entire reproductive season (as soon as you switch to 12/12!)A typical blooming formula has a high middle number, and the first and third are low. For example, 10/60/10 is a common flower bed blooming formula which works just fine for M.J. When you flip to 12/12, give the girls a jolt of bloom full strength using the outdoor blooming formula, and continue watering with clear, oxy-rich water. four weeks into flowering, give them bloom again as before, and that's it. Flowering can be delayed by excess amounts of Nitrogen in the soil/medium during 12/12. If fertilizer burn is evident, (crispy claw-like lower leaves) flush pots before flowering to remove salt build-up and plant waste in the soil.
Potassium (K) is one of the important building blocks for all growth, especially in the formative stages of the plant's life. What is important for cannabis is that in the fall when the source of potassium naturally drops, this helps to trigger the flowering mechanism. This is why you'll see that most flowering formulas have a lower last number, due to the decreased levels of Potassium.
  • Magnesium isn't normally an included element, in most fertilizers, but  cannabis, like tomatoes requires it, and if it runs out, all the leaves begin to curl upwardly (in prayer) and fall off inexplicably. Most plants don't like Mg as much as cannabis (Other than tomatoes)  Just dissolve 1 tbsp of EPSOM SALTS in a gallon of water and feed.
  • Careful: Using too much can cause a dangerous salt build-up, which could potentially prevent the uptake of other nutrients.
